Working with the Director of Development and the Fundraising Manager, the Editor of
Leading the Legacy is responsible for researching, writing, and publishing the online and print
Leading the Legacy Philanthropic Newsletter.
Leading the Legacy documents the efforts of The Association and how our programs and initiatives are developing tomorrow’s leaders.
Requirements
- Professional writing and editing experience
- High level of organization skill, ability to multi-task, and work with hard deadlines
- Familiarity with the CAP Cadet Program
- Ability to manage a project from start to completion
- Attention to detail, especially in editing and proofing
- Proficient computer skills – use of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Publisher, email, and internet applications
- Ability to work collaboratively with others
- Enthusiasm and commitment
Responsibilities
- Work with the Director of Development and Fundraising Manager to document results of Association-funded programs and initiatives
- Produce an annual, professional-quality (glossy) print newsletter suitable for marketing fundraising efforts
- Plan, organize, edit, and write monthly content (at least one article per month) for online and print publication (some content will be used with The Question Mark online or print newsletter; other content will be reserved solely for the Leading the Legacy publication
- Gather and choose possible photos and images for newsletter
- Coordinate with graphic designer on content, layout, colors, and photos
- Work with volunteer writers in the field to produce articles for the online or print newsletter
- Copy edit and proofread all articles as required
