"How do I join?"
If you've earned the Spaatz Award, you already have. By virtue of their achievement, all Spaatz recipients are non-voting members of the Association; however, only dues-paying members may vote or hold an elected office. Membership dues are $20.00 annually and are used for expenses such as newsletter publishing/mailing costs, our internet web site, and costs related to administering Association programs, including scholarships and the mentoring initiative. Dues are waived the first year for new Spaatz recipients.

Supporting your association just got easier! We've partnered with PayPal to bring you the convenience of online payments for annual membership dues (support for lifetime memberships, donations and merchandise to come soon). PayPal is safe and secure; your bank or credit card information is never exposed to us, giving you peace of mind. Via PayPal, we are now able to accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover, as well as standard electronic funds transfers. For your convenience, association annual memberships are set up on a recurring basis. To begin your membership, simply enter your Spaatz Award number and click the PayPal graphic below!
Lifetime Memberships
Lifetime memberships are now available for a one-time fee of $400, which may be paid in one lump sum or in installments over the course of one year and is fully tax-deductible. (see below)

Check the Master Spaatz Recipient List to see if there's a * next to your number and notify our master sleuth, Larry Trick (#452), that you're not as lost as we thought.
Membership is presently limited to Spaatz Award recipients, with a few exceptions. See Article II of the Bylaws for details.

Tax Benefits
Recently the Association was designated by the IRS as a charitable, non-profit organization under section 503(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. This designation, achieved via the efforts of formern treasurer Eric Haertel, Spaatz #318, means that membership dues, donations to Association programs (scholarships, etc.), travel & lodging to annual meetings, etc., are fully tax-deductible for federal--and in some cases, state--income tax purposes.
spaatz.org E-mail Addresses
Dues-current members may take advantage of a personalized e-mail address under our spaatz.org internet domain, e.g., doug.roach@spaatz.org or beth690@spaatz.org. Handy for students, military personnel, job-hoppers or those who change internet service providers frequently, this benefit will provide a permanent e-mail address for personal use. This service is not an actual e-mail account, but a forwarding mechanism; you must have an existing e-mail account to use this service. All mail addressed to your spaatz.org e-mail address will be automatically rerouted to your "real" address. Free e-mail accounts can be obtained from a variety of vendors such as Juno, Yahoo, Hotmail and others.
Dues-current members wishing to sign up for this service must send their request to our domain administrator and webmaster, Matt Johnson, indicating:
- desired spaatz.org e-mail address
- existing e-mail address
Within the bounds of good taste, your spaatz.org address may be anything you wish; in the event of duplicate requests for an address, First-Come, First-Served is the rule. We reserve the right to deny requests of an objectionable nature. Questions regarding this new member benefit should be directed to Matt Johnson.
