President's Welcome
Richard L. Anderson
TSA National President
Welcome to the on-line headquarters of The Spaatz Association (TSA)! Our membership consists of all Civil Air Patrol (CAP) cadets who have earned the General Carl A. Spaatz Award, the top CAP Cadet Program award created in 1964 and named in honor of the first Chief of Staff of the United States Air Force and later the first Chairman of the CAP National Board, General Carl A. "Tooey" Spaatz.
We exist to develop the 24,000 cadet members of Civil Air Patrol through an Aviation Leadership Scholarship (ALS) grant program that leads to an FAA private pilot certificate. We also seek to commemorate the life General Tooey Spaatz and have awarded more than $80,000 in scholarships to deserving CAP cadets.
All Spaatz Award recipients are automatically members of TSA, and their membership is in force whether or not they are still members of Civil Air Patrol. We conduct two membership meetings each year in conjunction with the two meetings of the CAP National Board.
Welcome to the on-line home of The Spaatz Association! Thank you for visiting, and we look forward to your return visit!
